Beaches & Swimming
Detailed information about Siesta Key's spectacular beaches can be found at our Islands & Beaches page. Even in winter months, waters are clear, warm and safe for swimming.

Sarasota is widely considered one of Florida's best locations for scuba diving. Point of Rocks, at the southern tip of Crescent Beach, with its crystal clear waters is an excellent scuba diving locale.
For avid golfers, Sarasota provides a dizzying array of more than 3 dozen golf courses that satisfy all budgets and skill levels. Nearby public facilities are the Bobby Jones Golf Complex offering 3 courses, Sarasota Golf Club, and Forest Lakes Golf Club.
For those who enjoy catching their own dinner, the waters off Siesta Key are abundant. Fishing tackle is available for rent at Economy Tackle. In addition to surf fishing, one of the more popular locations is the walkway across the island's northern Siesta Drive bridge to Sarasota, as well as Country Park at the base of the island side of the bridge.
Major League Baseball Spring Training
Love to be up-close and personal with your favorite MLB team? Central Florida is the place to be! Just across the bridge in Sarasota is the spring training home of the Baltimore Orioles, Ed Smith Stadium. The Pittsburgh Pirates make their spring home just a few miles up the road in Bradenton at McKechnie Field. A one-hour drive gets you to the Yankees' Steinbrenner Field (Tampa), the Phillies' Bright House Field (Clearwater), and the local favorite Rays' Charlotte Sports Park (Port Charlotte). And for members of Red Sox Nation, City of Palms Park in Ft. Myers is just 90 minutes away. Baseball heaven!
Sports Fishing & Sailing Charters
If you don't suffer from sea sickness and enjoy sports fishing or sailing, you've come to the right place! Fishing charters can be arranged with, among others, CB's Saltwater Outfitters and Rodbender Fishing Charters. For sailors, Enterprise Sailing Charters offers sails of the Gulf's turquoise waters to see dolphins, celebrity homes, and romantic sunsets at sea.
Cycling & Scootering
One of the most enjoyable, efficient, and economical ways to get around on Siesta Key is on two wheels. Rental of bicycles, motor scooters, and segways can be arranged at a number of Siesta Key establishments, including Robin Hood Rentals and Siesta Sports Rentals.
